Congrats to the OS Classic Winner!

The 2009 Old Spice Classic is over. If you taped it and were planning to watch it later, you might want to stop reading here, because I am about to reflect on how Florida State won. Florida State took it all home this year, coming back in the second half to eventually score the most [...]

Old Spice Classic Starts Tomorrow!

Tomorrow is the first day of the next preseason basketball tournament of your life. Don’t miss it on your television. Unless you have tickets to the games, in which case you should probably go watch it on the JumboTron TV.

Thanksgiving Traditions

It’s funny to think about where traditions come from. I mean, if you think about it, the first guy to bring a large tree into his living room and cover it with decorations was probably considered insane. But decorating Christmas trees, roasting chestnuts on an open fire and growing a holiday neck beard seem as [...]

Organized Sports

What came first, the sports or the fans? Do you think that before there were organized sports people still dressed in matching color schemes to watch events unfold and then cheer and eat hot dogs? Perhaps it began with two people throwing and bouncing a crude ball around that drew the attention of bystanders who were the forefathers of the modern sports fan. Whether it was the turkey or the egg that came first, this Thanksgiving weekend I am going to be sure to sit on my couch for hours on end saluting all of the fans of sports that came over on the Mayflower, as well as all the fans that already called this continent “home” in their native language.

Numbers Don’t Lie

There is an old saying that numbers don’t lie. The popular view on this is that they don’t lie because they can’t talk and don’t have blogs, but I prefer to believe numbers don’t lie because they are fundamentally good and lack any will to deceive. We’ll probably never know, because numbers can’t talk. But one thing you can be sure of is that the first round of the Old Spice Classic tournament will take place on Thanksgiving Day when Creighton plays Michigan, Marquette plays Xavier, Alabama plays Baylor and Florida State plays Iona.

Old Spice Classic Tournament starts Thanksgiving Day

Oh man. I just got finished watching last year’s highlights from the teams that will play in this year’s Old Spice Classic. We are in for an action-packed weekend of basketball unless these players have totally let themselves go, or lost interest in basketball, or been hired by Hollywood to play basketball players in movies about basketball, or decided to quit the team in order to focus on their studies. Dunks, three-pointers and probably some incredible defensive plays too that will set your spirit soaring while your body relaxes on the couch. The action begins with four games on Thanksgiving Day.

Old Spice Classic – Twelve games – Three days

It’s fall. The leaves have served their purpose, and the trees are getting rid of them like wrappers for snacks eaten long ago. As we all begin gathering around the hearth for warmth, college basketball players will be warming up their legs and other lower-body muscles on Thanksgiving weekend with the Old Spice Classic pre-season tournament. Twelve games broadcast over three days to help distract us from autumn’s haunting overtones of death and decay, and the fact that eventually we shall all fall to the earth like autumn leaves, and that we should watch as much basketball as possible in the meantime. To be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU.

The ‘Adventures Of Swagger Man’ Vaporizes The Competition in the ‘Swaggerize Your Wallet’ Competition

Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) October 9, 2009 — Just as summer comes to a close, so too has the Old Spice® “Swaggerize Your Wallet” competition -a user-generated contest that awarded thousands of dollars to consumers who went the extra mile to show off their Swagger® style. The contest ran for two months and in the spirit of Old Spice, all challenges relied heavily on a sense of humor while calling for the creative use of the brand’s popular Swagger logo.
